Lackawanna County seeks images created by county artists to beautify the government center on Wyoming Avenue.
The goal of the “Beautify the Building” program is to showcase local art celebrating Lackawanna County. Select artists will receive $150 for use of their images. While works in all mediums will be considered, sculptures and other three-dimensional forms must be submitted in photograph format.
Artworks should be uplifting, positive and reflect one or more of the following themes: community life in the county; memorializing COVID-19; civic duty; the environment; arts and culture; older adults, children and youth; people with disabilities; mental health; diversity and inclusion.
The county will cover the cost of printing images in various sizes. Artworks must be original and artists will retain all intellectual property rights. Applications can be found at lackawannacounty.org; the submission deadline is May 15.
