Tom Papa 2023 Comedy Tour
Join stand-up comedian Tom Papa on Friday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. when he comes to Scranton Cultural Center at The Masonic Temple, 420 N. Washington Ave.
Papa released a Netflix special “Tom Papa: You’re Doing Great!” in February. He also released a book titled of the same name, and has a podcast, “Breaking Bread with Tom Papa.”

MDG Crew – A Tribute to Foley
Honor a late member of the local music scene at this tribute show.
On Friday, March 10, at the V-spot Bar, 906 Providence Road, Scranton, celebrate the life of Bob Foley, who died last week after battling brain cancer for the second time. As a member of the local scene, Foley touched countless lives, and friends, including bandmates from the MDG Crew, put together the show to support Foley’s family.
“What began as a hobby, he began deejaying throughout the region. Under the handle ‘D.J. Cadillac’ or ‘D.J. Boogie,’ chances are he emceed an event you attended,” according to his obituary. “Being the life of the party was Fol’s specialty.”
The event takes place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and there is a $5 cover. In addition to live music from the MDG Crew, there also will be MDG shirts for sale as well as koozies, stickers and more. All proceeds from these sales will go to the GoFundMe campaign, “Fundraiser for Bob Foley and family,” to support Foley’s family, including his wife and young children.

Act Out Theatre Group presents “Matilda” Friday, March 10, through Sunday, March 12, at Act Out Theatre Group, 802 S. Main St., 804D, Taylor.
Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s is at 2 p.m., for the musical based on Roald Dahl’s story of an intelligent young girl with special gifts. The novel was adapted into a 1996 film starring Mara Wilson, before being written as a stage musical in 2010. A film adaptation of the musical was released late last year.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens if purchased in advance. Prices will increase at the door.

Masterworks II: Discovering Bruce Reiprich
Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic presents “Discovering Bruce Reiprich” on Saturday, March 11, at 8 p.m. at Kirby Center for the Creative Arts, Wyoming Seminary Upper School, 201 N. Sprague Ave., Kingston.
The program includes Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3”; Claude Debussy’s, “Danses Sacrées et Profanes” and Gustav Holst’s, “Saint Paul’s Suite.”
There also will be a chance to meet composer Reiprich after the concert.

‘Morning’s at Seven’
Actors Circle presents “Morning’s at Seven” Friday, March 10, through Sunday, March 12, at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Rd. in Scranton.
Performances take place on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The show is set in small-town in America, where the lives of four sisters are upended.
Tickets cost $15 for general admission, $12 for senior citizens and $10 for students.
