Black Scranton Boogie Oogie
Black Scranton Project presents “Black Scranton Boogie Oogie” on Sunday, Oct. 30, at Black Scranton Center for Art & Culture, 1902 N. Main Ave.
A hip-hop showcase presented by Nowadaze and friends, the event begins at 6 p.m. and features performances by CHZYBOP, Silo Good, Sam Graduated, DJ Frequency.City and more.
Costumes are strongly encouraged and there will be a chance to win a cash prize for the best costume.
The event is BYOB and everyone must be 21 or older to attend.

Costume contest and Halloween party
Get some tricks and treats at Montage Mountain’s annual Halloween and costume party.
Enjoy drinks, dancing and more spooky fun on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 6 to midnight inside Slocum Hollow Bar & Restaurant at Montage Mountain Resorts, 1000 Montage Mountain Road, Scranton.
Wear a costume for a chance to win $3,000 for first place; $1,500 for second place; $500 for third place, or a prize pack for fourth and fifth places. The event is for ages 21 and older.

Annual Pawrade at Zummo’s
Dress up your pup for the fourth annual Pawrade at Zummo’s on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m. at Zummo’s Cafe, 918 Marion St., Scranton.
Dogs will get a chance to get photos by Autumn Breeze Photography. There also will be a costume contest for the dressed pooches.
All dogs must be and good around other dogs, and any proceeds benefit the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

Comedian Kevin James will perform Thursday, Oct. 27, at F.M. Kirby Center for the Per-forming
Arts, 71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30.
James starred on the CBS sitcom “The King of Queens” as well as movies including “Paul
Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2,” “Zookeeper,” and “Here Comes The Boom.”

‘Thrill the World’
Zombie dancers will take part in the global “Thrill the World: Worldwide ‘Thriller’
Flash Mob” on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. in front of Scranton Cultural Center at
the Masonic Temple, 420 N. Washington Ave.
Dancers will show off their moves to Michael Jackson’s hit “Thriller” in an attempt to break a
World Record. Proceeds benefit the Scranton Cultural Center.
