Brooklyn Deli Grocery opened Feb. 1 in South Scranton .
The New York City-style deli, located at 401 Cedar Ave., is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday
Owner Jose Zorrilla said he wanted to provide residents with a place to pick up fresh food without traveling outside their neighborhood.
The business sells hoagies, sandwiches, pastries, fruits and vegetables, and fresh-squeezed drinks along with many traditional grocery items including pasta, Zorilla said.
“We have new people coming in every day to take a look and they’re enjoying what we have,” he added.
