Briggs Farm Blues Festival will take place this year from Thursday, July 8, to Saturday, July 10.

The 24th blues festival is family-oriented, taking place on the Briggs’ family’s farm just off Interstate 80 at 88 Old Berwick Highway, Nescopeck.

The event kicks off July 8 with music from 1970, ranging from the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Grateful Dead to Van Morrison and Creedence Clearwater Revival. On July 9, audiences can hear from headliner Ana Popovic plus Lil’Ed and the Blues Imperials, the Campbell Brothers and Celisse Henderson. On the final day, July 10, headliner Shemekia Copeland will perform, as will Victor Wainwright, Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues and Scott Pemberton.

On the more intimate Back Porch Stage, meanwhile, guests can find even more music from the National Reserve, Gracie Curran, King Solomon Hicks, Gabe Stillman, Swampcandy and others.

“Live music creates a special thread of connection,” festival President Richard Briggs said in an announcement. “There’s’ no limit to what music can do to bring us all together, and we need that more than ever.”

Guests can bring their own drinks, coolers and snacks, but the farm also will offer on-site camping, host vendors and have good for sale.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 15. Visit briggsfarm.com for details.
