Teá Amerise

  • School: Holy Redeemer
  • Year: Junior
  • A District 2 doubles champion a year ago, the Royals’ top singles player led them to 11 regular season wins — second in the WVC. Advanced to the district semifinals of 2A singles and doubles with partner Cassie Benderavich as the No. 3 seed. Poised for another successful season next year.

Anabel Gifoli

  • School: Valley West
  • Year: Senior
  • Helped lead the Spartans to seven WVC wins as one of their top singles players. Had one of the best wins of any WVC player in the postseason, eliminating No. 3 seed Clare Della Valle to advance to the semifinals of the Class 3A singles subregional. Also reached the semifinals in doubles with partner Sara Hoskins.

Nicole Joanlanne

  • School: Wyoming Seminary
  • Year: Senior
  • The multitime CV all-star selection missed part of the season with an injury, but bounced back to cap her high school career in stellar fashion. Won her doubles match in the District 2 team final, then teamed with Ella Krypel to win district gold in doubles and eventually reach the state semifinals.

Ella Krypel

  • School: Wyoming Seminary
  • Year: Freshman
  • Immediately cemented spot as the Blue Knights’ top singles player and was a pivotal part of their WVC and District 2 titles. Then finished fourth in the state in doubles with partner Nicole Joanlanne to cap off a great first season. Should be one of the Valley’s top players to watch for years to come.

 

Alyssa Mazurek

  • School: Hazleton Area
  • Year: Junior
  • It was a rebuilding year for the Cougars as a team, but Mazurek had a standout year as their top singles player. She reached the singles semifinals of the Class 3A subregional, falling to eventual champion Bella Peters, and also was one of the top seeds for doubles with Maddie Terracino.

 

Bella Scappaticci

  • School: Wyoming Area
  • Year: Senior
  • She helped form a potent one-two punch with Brianna Pizzano throughout the season as the Warriors’ No. 2 singles player, helping Wyoming Area win seven matches in WVC play. Won her opening match of district singles play and teamed with Pizzano to reach the finals of the Class 2A doubles tournament.

 

Emily Urbanski

  • School: Wyoming Seminary
  • Year: Senior
  • As Sem’s primary No. 2 singles player, had a key role in the team’s undefeated run through the WVC. Another repeat all-star, she entered the District 2 Class 2A singles tournament as the No. 7 overall seed and had a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory in the semifinals of the team tournament the Blue Knights eventually won.
