The final Lackawanna League team to start its season got going last week and Dunmore is a team to watch moving forward.
The Bucks have an experienced lineup and have jumped out to a pair of 3-2 wins over Wallenpaupack and Scranton. Now because they got a late start, their schedule will compress, but it’s just good to see them back in action considering all of the heartbreak the athletes at the school faced at the end of the high school basketball season because of COVID-19.
DUNMORE THIS WEEK
Wednesday: Dunmore at North Pocono (2-2)
Thursday: West Scranton (3-1) at Dunmore
Friday: Dunmore at Abington Heights (4-0)
Saturday: Scranton Prep (3-0) at Dunmore
Things continue to point toward a showdown between Abington Heights and Scranton Prep for the championship.
Last week, Abington Heights earned a 4-1 win over a solid Valley View club to firmly establish itself as the favorite to defend its title won in 2019. Scranton Prep is 3-0 after a win over North Pocono last week.
TOP 5 TEAMS
Abington Heights made some waves with its 4-1 win over No. 3 Valley View. Scranton Prep clearly is back and a strong contender this season.
