Here are the players selected to the 2019 Class 1A all-state team by the Pennsylvania Football Writers.

Ben Jackson, West Greene – 6-1, 220 senior
Anthony Stallworth, Farrell – 5-11, 185 sophomore
Ray Melnikoff, Lackawanna Trail – 5-11, 215 junior

  • Returning Class 1A All-State fullback. Two-year starter who helped Lions reach the PIAA Class 1A semifinals this season and final as a sophomore. Ran for 1,511 yards and 15 touchdowns and added 284 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns and contributed more than 50 tackles as a linebacker and 32 kicking points. Has run for 3,024 yards and 32 touchdowns, while adding 509 yards receiving with 3 touchdowns receiving in his career where the Lions are 32-9. During the last two state playoffs he has run for 863 yards and 10 touchdowns.

  • Dominant and physical two-way tackle who controlled the line of scrimmage in state playoffs for rushing attack that averaged 303.8 yards rushing in the playoffs and finished rushing for 4,131 yards in 14 games and averaged 352.7 total yards during run to District 2 Class 1A championship. Also contributed more than 60 tackles.

Led the team with 83 total tackles that included 41 solo and 4 for loss and a season-high 12 total stops in a win over Muncy in the PIAA Class 1A quarterfinals. Also contributed on an offensive line that helped team average 303.8 yards rushing in the playoffs and finished rushing for 4,131 yards in 14 games and averaged 352.7 total yards during run to District 2 Class 1A championship.
