The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are inviting fans to give it their best swing.
Or, their best several swings.
The team will host a home run derby July 29 at PNC Field that will be open to participants from the community. The RailRiders are on the road in Syracuse that day.
The event will be broken down into five age groups — 16-19, 20-24, 25-30, 31-35 and 36 and older — and the first 20 in each group to sign up at swbrailriders.com will make up the field. Each will get 15 swings to take aim at targets positioned throughout the field, with each target being worth a set amount of points.
The three contestants with the most points in each age group will move on to the finals.
Prizes from the RailRiders and sponsor T-Mobile will be up for grabs.
