40 Years Ago, The Scranton Times and Rock 107 started the “Sounding Board,” an occasional column that appeared in the paper featuring album reviews from members of the Times and Rock 107 staff.

The first column appeared in the Times on April 16, 1980 with reviews of albums by The Clash, Billy Joel, Humble Pie, The Pretenders, Genesis, Firefall, Van Halen, Little River Band and The Marshall Tucker Band.

To mark the 40th anniversary of Rock 107,  Pages of the Past will be sharing these columns occasionally. Let us know if you think these reviews still hold up today.
