Entertainer, talk and game show host Regis Philbin died on Friday, July 24 at the age of 88.

In the 1990s, Philbin played in three charity softball games at Lackawanna County Stadium. Regis and the Montage All-Stars took on (Michael) Bolton’s Bombers on Aug. 17, 1994. The second was on July 14, 1995 against the California Diamonds. The final match-up was a rematch between Regis and Bolton. That game took place on July 17, 1998.

Before his turns on the baseball diamond at the Lackawanna County Stadium, Regis and his co-host Kathie Lee Gifford performed at the F.M. Kirby Center on Nov. 2, 1990.
