The Freeland American Legion is supporting Operation Duffel Bag and asking for the public to join them in supporting this worthy cause.

This project was started by Brandon’s Forever Home to make the transition into the foster care system a little less scary. Donated bags are used so that the children in foster care do not have to use trash bags to carry their belongings.

Toiletries are also collected so children can pick out anything they want or need while waiting for a forever home. Bags should be big enough to hold personal items.

Items needed include face masks, hand sanitizer, travel size deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, soap, perfume, toothpaste, tooth brushes, hair brushes, combs and any other toiletries.

Collected items may be dropped off at the drop-off box at the Freeland American Legion, 523 Centre St., Freeland.
