Before the cooks make the soup, the artists have to make the bowls — all 200 of them.

Walk in Art Center studio artists, associate artists and public volunteers have been busy making 200 ceramic bowls for the center’s first SOUP-er Bowl from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 5, the Friday before the Super Bowl.

Bowls are in various stages of completion throughout the center. Some are complete and ready to eat from, while others have only been bisque fired or freshly thrown and still wet.

The event, which will be held at the center’s main gallery in Schuylkill Haven, will be pickup only to ensure safety. In upcoming years, Walk In Art Center hopes to host community members for a dine-in lunch.

A $25 ticket gets you a handmade bowl of your choice, three to-go containers of soup, a roll and a dessert. The choices of soup are not yet listed.

Tickets are available at Walk In Art Center’s website, walkinartcenter.org.
