She is coming.
A few months ago, I posted about Lady Gaga’s rumored beauty line, which launched a website and began to collect emails. Over the past few days, promo images were leaked on Instagram of Haus Laboratories.
On July 15, the line is officially available for pre-order. I am NOT OK.
From the promo photos and video, everything looks amazing, from rich green shadow to ultra glossy lips to lacquer-black graphic liner. Gaga also worked with her longtime makeup artist Sarah Tanno on the line. Name an iconic Mother Monster look, (Golden Globes 2019 Periwinkle Dream, Grammys 2019 Punk Rock Princess, the legendary looks of The Countess on “American Horror Story” season 5) Tanno has done it and absolutely slayed it. Makeup artist Michael Anthony (Katy Perry and Rita Ora are clients) worked on the line, too, judging by his Instagram posts.
One of the most important pieces? The promo images for Haus Labs don’t look retouched as you can see texture, peach fuzz and more normal parts of real skin — which is almost unheard of for a beauty campaign.
In the spring, super fans noticed her company, Ate My Heart, Inc., quietly filed for trademark on “Haus Beauty” as well as “Haus Laboratories” and “Haus Labs.” Haus of Gaga is her collaborative with artists, designers and other creatives.
We’re not going to be disappointed, either. While the trademark covered cosmetics like lipsticks and eyeshadows, it also included rights to everything from beauty tools to skincare products.
You all know by now how much I love Lady Gaga. She’s creative and strange and beautiful and genuine. She is on fire when she’s sharing her art with the world. That inspires me to be weird, to be creative, to live and breathe my passion. To give everything of myself to what I love like she does.
She wrote a post on her Facebook page about just that — how makeup gave her the power to become Lady Gaga. “I found the superhero within me by looking in the mirror and seeing who I wanted to be,” she wrote.
This is about more than eyeshadow. This is about creating and celebrating who we are. I cannot wait to see where this takes us.
Take a look at the promo images below and watch the video on the Haus Labs Facebook page.
