25th Anniversary Father’s Day Car Show

Motor on over to Scranton’s Nay Aug Park, 500 Arthur Ave., to celebrate dad this weekend.

The 25th annual Father’s Day Car Show, hosted by Villa Capri Cruisers Car Club Inc., will be held on Sunday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will offer food, music, prizes, gifts and giveaways pluss more than 600 show cars.

Pre-registration to exhibit a car costs $10 and registration the day of the show costs $15. All vehicles are welcome.

Proceeds from the event benefits children’s charities. Admission is for spectators is free.

Butterfly House Opening Weekend

Float into Creekside Gardens, 4 Village Lane, Tunkhannock, for opening weekend of its Butterfly House.

The open house will take place Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Butterfly House remains open daily, weather permitting, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through early September. Walk through a utopia of native Pennsylvania butterflies housed in a screened-in garden full of colorful flowers. Visitors also can witness the life cycle of a butterfly, with live eggs, caterpillars and chrysalis on display. Picnic tables are available for those who bring a lunch. Photography is enncouraged.

Carnvial for Kids

Beat summer boredom with a Carnival for Kids this weekend at McDade Park, 1 Bald Mountain Road, hosted by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The carnival will be held Saturday, June 15, from noon to 4 p.m. Attractions include pony and carriage rides, a petting zoo, an obstacle course, bounce house, basket raffles, food and more. Entertainment will be provided by Damian the Magician, Riot Circus Arts, DJ Danny Keeler, Arts in Movement and Princesses of a Moment of Magic. Scranton Police Department will present a K-9 demonstration.

B-Street Band

Revisit “Glory Days” on Friday, June 14, when B-Street Band performs at Scranton’s Stage West, 301 N. Main Ave.

The Bruce Springsteen tribute band goes on at 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30.

Guests must be 21 and older to attend, with a cash bar and full food service available for purchase.

Tickets are $15 for advance general admission and $100 for a reserved table for four.
