Northeastern Pennsylvania Theatrical Alliance looks to raise money for a memorial scholarship at a special concert Friday, Oct. 4.

The second NEPTA Memorial Concert to benefit the William A. Dzancewicz Memorial Scholarship of the Performing Arts will take place at at Little Theatre of Wilkes Barre, 537 N. Main St. A cash bar cocktail reception will open the night at 7 p.m., with the program following at 8. Admission is a suggested donation of $5, which will go to the scholarship given to a graduating high school senior who plans to continue in theatrical education.

Additionally, the memorial program honors members of NEPTA who died recently, this year recognizing Jane Asher and Judy Lawler of Pocono Lively Arts; Sid Michaels Kavulich of Actors Circle; Dr. Peter Cupple of Actors Circle and Showcase; James Karen, Carole Thorton Kennelly and Robert P. Niznik of LTWB; and Antoninette “Toni” P. Nardone of Showcase and LTWB.

Various troupe members will perform in honor of the deceased, including Cathy Rist Strauch and Bernard M. Ott of Actors Circle will perform “Who’s On First” in memory of Kavulich, while Sarah Houck of Mostly Opera, accompanied by her mother, Linda Houck, will perform the aria “Quando Me’n Vo” in honor of Cupple.
