The NAACP Wilkes-Barre Branch 2306 will begin celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day by hosting a virtual “Day of Remembrance” 6 p.m. Friday.
The event is being held via Zoom to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. The theme is “Then & Now” and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Vicki Sapp, director of student engagement, diversity inclusion at the Geisinger School of Medicine. John Barnes, community outreach coordinator for the branch, is chairman of this year’s event.
