A downtown Scranton bar that the Lackawanna County district attorney’s office sought to shut down as a nuisance is back in business.

Rocky’s Lounge, 141 Jefferson Ave., has been opening occasionally over the past couple of weeks after completing a 30-day state Liquor Control Board suspension on top of its voluntary six-month closure as part of a court-approved deal with the DA’s office.

In agreeing to the six-month shutdown in February, Rocky’s said it would undertake security measures, including hiring a uniformed guard Thursdays through Saturdays and installing security cameras and an identification scanning device.

Noting the bar has met all the conditions set by the court, District Attorney Mark Powell said Monday he hopes it will continue to comply with the laws of the commonwealth.
