The Artists Open House Weekend, which has traditionally been held in Susquehanna County the second weekend in October, is going virtual in 2020.
Instead of driving around the county Aug. 10, 11, and 12, the public can tune in virtually at artiststour.com and see the handiwork of about 20 artisans.
This year’s tour will be a little different. It will be virtual and kicking off on October 10. Then you can keep coming back after the weekend is over. Check back for updates.
This self guided tour features the abundant beauty of Susquehanna County by artists working in these many media: textiles, photography, fused glass jewelry, wood-carving, unique wood-, gas-, and electric-fired ceramics, paintings in many media and styles, collage, sculpture, field stone walls, stained glass, contemporary wood furniture, and fine art giclee prints.
Some of the artists include: Walter Ball, Louise Banks, Nance’ Brown, Betty Bryden, Megan Conner, Ken Ely, Jennifer Flaherty, Richard Griffith, Chris Lathrop, Sonji Lee, James Malenda, Carol Matheson, Archie Johnson and Ruth Cohen, Lourdes Schaffroth, Bob Truman, Linda Truman, Maureen Van Nostrand, Eric VanTassel, Rachael Van Tassel, Kirk Van Zandbergen, and Lesli Van Zandbergen.
Van Nostrand is offering curb-side pick up for her artwork this year. If you’re not able to make the drive, she can also ship her work so that you can shop from the comforts of your own home.
Check it all out at artiststour.com.
